As an engineer, I'd go one level smaller and encourage distributed decisions also within a team.
An anti-pattern I have seen in some people is wanting everyone to be involved in every decision.
The framework I use for distributed decision-making is having a document of a proposal, a review meeting (everyone invited but everyone optional) and then sharing the outcome of the discussion in meeting notes.
